Dr. med. Lutz Liebich-Bartholain

Dr. Lutz Liebich-Bartholain studied medicine at the Ruhr University in Bochum and at the Free University of Berlin. He received his PhD in 1994 while working at the Transplant Immunology Department of the German Heart Centre Berlin.

His specialist training was performed at the gastroenterological departments of the DRC Clinics Berlin (Hospital Mark Brandenburg and Westend Hospital). He practices since 1998 as a specialist in internal medicine. In 2001 he obtained an additional certification in Gastroenterology. He was a senior physician at the interior department of St Francis Hospital in Berlin and from 2003 to 2006 worked as a senior physician in the department of the gastroenterological at the DRC Westend Hospital (under chief physician Dr. R. Büchsel).

He performs endoscopies since 1995 and works with all current diagnostic and therapeutic endoscope procedures, including esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, polyp ablation, bile duct and mirroring, endosonographie, proctoscopy, hemorrhoids treatment. Particular emphasis of his activities is on the treatment of chronic inflammatory bowel disease, cancer screening and care for patients with gastroenterological cancers.
